BHAKKAR: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Saturday challenged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed among others to adopt a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly.
Speaking to a ceremony, the premier said that leaders of all opposition parties involved in joint-protest rally at Mall Road should “make an attempt to dissolve the assemblies”.
“I have a clear message for those cursing the Parliament and staging a circus at Mall Road that make an attempt to dissolve the assemblies. I challenge them to table a no-confidence motion against me in the National Assembly,” the PM was quoted as saying by Express tribune.
PM Abbasi further stated that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has always worked for national unity and for the welfare of the country without provincial discrimination, while he also took a jibe at opposition parties with provincial governments for ‘failing to deliver’.
“PML-N has headed projects in all provinces of the country. Some opposition parties, however, despite having provincial governments have failed to perform,” said the premier.
Earlier this week, the National Assembly passed a resolution condemning Imran Khan and Sheikh Rasheed’s anti-Parliament remarks.
